Web Designers looking to make a buck?

I recently contacted a web designer I know via the internets and asked him about his rates. I'm an actor and I just need a clean, functional webpage with a photogallery, a blog and a few other things. Nothing fancy. Long story short, it would cost me right around $2000.

Anyone up in here who can do it for way less? Or know someone who can?
