What kind of web cam can I get that is guaranteed to work with XP? I have a Creative Video Blaster Web Cam II and it won't work with XP. My floppy drive won't work either with XP, I don't know if these have any thing to do with each other.

The Logitech cameras work like a champ in XP.

Your floppy drive does not have to be XP compatible in order to work. Check the cables and/or swap with a know good FDD to determine if yours is bad.

Yup, Logitech... YOu cannot go wrong with Logitech when it comes to software support. I mean like driver and stuff like that.
I just got a PRO3000 myself yesterday...

Most of the Intel webcams work great with XP. There's also the Philips ToUCam Pro, which is very acceptable in low light situations.

Go for the Logitech or Creative models... I'd prefer Logitech because they release updated drivers regularly, unlike Creative that's spotty with driver releases...

Pls avoid Intel at all costs. They are closing down their division which makes Webcams and MP3 players. I doubt you'll get any future support. All they're selling at the moment is the remaining stock

Intel recently released a new version of their home webcam (replacing the Create-n-Share?) that not only looks cool, it's PnP on every MS OS...unlike so many other webcams that require software installation before plugging in the USB cable (hey, how many of you formatted after making that mistake, huh?).

Whether or not Intel is dropping webcams is moot...there's no way their 15-year bed-partner is gonna drop support out of the box (unless Andy Grove p_sses on BillG's shoes...).

Feel safe with Intel.

P.S. I found that my Logitech is the worst in low-light of my four webcams. And I second just about any complaint about Creative, regardless of product.
