Web Cam that doesn't suck image quality wise?

Was looking at web cams recently. The MS Lifecams are pretty well rated. I played with the LifeCam Cinema. It was pretty nice for the price. But, why can't I find a truly impressive one ? The video quality was good for $60, but it still looked pretty poor overall, and the microphone sounded real bad. I'd have no problem dropping $150 to get something higher quality, but apparently this LifeCam Cinema is as good as it gets? Outside of hooking a video camera to a capture card do I have any options here for recording higher quality video live on my PC?

Lifecam isn't horrible, but yeah...
The one I had in my hp laptop was amazing, seriously destroying any other webcam I've used or have seen others use by not so small amounts.

Yes, only way to hook up I think.. For the most part..

MS Lifecams kick every others butt. The Logitecs werent bad.. I've tried many, many version of all brands for work.. MS FTW....
