Web Cam Question

I just hooked up an IBM PC Camera - pretty fun to play with but any movement results in blurred imaging. Is this just the way it is with USB connections or is there something I can do to fix this?

Are there Firewire Web Cams?

not to my knowledge.
can you do a bit of manual focusing on that cam to help sharpen up the picture?
