Alright, a big line of storms (which had produced hail and tornadoes just a few miles north) just went through. We were hoping we'd get a good downpour out of it because if the draught we've been suffering through all year. No such luck. My rain gauge isn't even filled enough for a reading! :(

However, right in the middle of the storm, there was some rain, but it came in the form of a mist, blowing around in every direction. Not much of it actually ended up in the ground. When I walked outside, it felt extremely humid, not like it was raining. The wind wasn't blowing very hard, so I'm confused as to what could make it come down like mist.

Just wondering what exactly would cause that?

Wind shear. It breaks up the drops as they fall. Think of it as a moisture blender
