Whew!
I upgraded my Linux server to sport a shiny new Duron 600 oc'ed to 850. (I'm going to try to bump it to 900 next)
The first Mandrake install was cake. This one was a B!TCH.
On the bright side I learned alot, without bugging Russ too much. There's alot of .ini settings in them thar files.
Anyway - a production bump from a K6/2-300 to 850 Mhz. That's 517 Kkeys/Sec to 3.18 Mkeys per second.
[edit - update] - The proc is now running at 900 Mhz. The K7T Pro2 mobo has GOT to be the best for this stuff. The new bios allows voltage bumps in .25V increments.
I got the Duron to 900 with 1.825v core and a 9 multiplier. Wouldn't even boot at 1.8
Without the new bios, you don't get the .25 v steps.
The "Grover Gray" crack rack is a reality!!!! 🙂
