weapons law question

so i want to carry a knife because the neighborhood i live around is surrounded by stupid ***icans. afr? or mex? OR BOTH!!! But so im walking home at 9 o'clock yesterday (4 hours ago) and this these ***icans (a group of them) is walking on a parallel apartment sidewalk next to me and they start charging me up. They said some stuff that, at any earlier time, i woulda came back with backup and beat the crap outta them with mini bats. So they start comming towards me, walking across an empty parking lot, and they looked like a group of punks and i know that i even with a knife i couldnt take on all 6-7 of them. So i just pulled my flip blade outta my pocket and carried it in a way at an angle so that they can see it. So i crossed a two lane road, while i was half way though, standing on the curb in the middle of the two roads, (very very luckily) 5 cars passed by, each close enough by each other so as to discourage the large group from crossing (since its harder for all 7 to come at the same time than one across the street). Anyways, they continued to walk parallel to me saying something like "que pasa", HEY YOU COME HERE, other stuff (in an accent). With several of them talking at once with their hands open all with their heads looking my direction.

Well nothing happened and it left me PISSSSSSED OFF. Well i've always carried a flip around although i know thats illegal. I have a friend that got 6 months probation for stabbing someone before and its not so bad punishment for stabbing someone. With that being said, it'd be worse if you get caught with an illegal blade on you. So can i legaly carry a flip?

I googled laws on texas about concealed weapon but it leads to hand guns and stuff. Then it confuses me when it says "blades over 5 1/2 inches are illegal", so im thinking i can carry my knife which is under 5.5. Then it says "any weapon is illegal if carried intentionaly " or something similar. Anyways its late and im tired and pissed about it and been researching it and would like to ask for opinions. Im not 21 yet so i cant get license for concealed weapon. Not only that, is there a license for people at 18 or under to carry like knives? Or what can you carry that is legal? metal Shishcabob things? I'd like to hear what you guys went through and what you carry around to protect yourself. Oneday ima stab someone and i'd hate to get in more trouble with a bigger fine or more probation or even jail time if they find an illegal blade on me.

I've had two guys jumped a pizza man near my house before (reported by neighborhood watch)
I walk home all the time since im too poor to aford a car. I'd always carry a weapon but one day ima do something stupid cuz these idiots around me deserve to get stabbed.

Also, if its a matter of life preservation then I wouldn't give a fvck what the law said, I'd protect myself and if I got jumped I'd pull out the biggest gun/knife/blunt weapon I could find.

Of course chances are, after you stab one of them, you're gonna get yer ass killed.
 
Well, this certainly made my evening more pleasant. If you're expecting to be jumped, then yes, you will be jumped. But the fact that nothing happened except for a bit of verbal harassment and you're out looking for a fight is disturbing.
 
Uh, you'd be better off taking a self defense class of some sort. If you pulled a knife out, your chances of getting hurt increases.

With a pistol, thats entirely different of course, but your to young.

Yes, stabbing someone will get you in a lot of trouble. As long as you hit them right in the jaw, and the the temple, this is the best way to go.
 
If you take a newspaper, roll it up and fold it in half, it makes a sharp point. Stab em hard in the adams apple or temple and they're out for pretty much forever.
