I don't seem to be able to get bass out of my system with anything but the Soundstorm on my old motherboard. Music is fine because I'm not a bass head, but games is a different story. The feeling of a mortar going off next to you in Call of Duty is too nice. :) The clarity of everything is excellent, but there is very little low end rumble, even with the 125Hz slider on the EQ turned up all the way, crossover @ 200hz and subwoofer volume @ max. The gain on my sub is up all the way and the crossover on it is set to 160Hz (low pass). I'd say this is a limitation of my system if I didn't know it sounded so good before.

Go int your mixer pannel and go to the advanced tab on the master control pannel. You should see a bass and treble tab. This should allow you to adjust that.

Also, make sure the CMSS is turned off. It tends to muddify sound quite well.

Right click on the blue/white speaker icon on the taskbar near the system clock-> click EAX console->then CMSS tab->uncheck the CMSS checkbox.

Hopefully this helps!

Sometimes I wish things didn't get fixed like this...

After fiddling with the gain and bass outputs I finally found a happy medium: levels flat, gain @ 2/3, xover @ 200 on card, 160 on sub. This is about where I thought it should be before.
