Weak balanced budget Amendment may get support from many lib Democrats

This Republican Congress is awful. First the National Concealed Carry Act which there is a good alternative to, now they're trying to pass a weak balanced budget Amendment which will never balance the budget! All the executive power has to do is create a national emergency like what happened with Pearl Harbor and then they can expand the welfare-warfare state.

They ought to repeal federal taxation powers and the 17th Amendment and then say that the Federal government's revenue can come exclusively from the states based upon their population and exclusively in hard money (gold or silver).

The Paul/Lee BBA is okay, but the one they're going to vote on is nothing more than a political stunt. Bipartisanship FTL.

It's no worse than the previous democrat congress. It's Congress it's going to suck. It's full of people only looking out for themselves. Very few of the people there actually care about their constituents until voting time.

Overall, HR 2 isn't too bad. It gets rid of the asinine super-minority provision for tax increases the Republicans were pushing over the Summer. Two issues I see are the inclusion of the debt limit provision. The debt limit should be abolished as it serves no purpose other than a platform for grandstanding. The second issue is the exception for times of war. Nope. If the case for war is not solid enough that we are willing to pay for war then we shouldn't be willing to send folks off to kill/die in a war.
