hindsight is 20/20...i guess my post is rather confused. I feel like it is borderline inappropriate for movies like this to come out in times like these?this movie adds fuel to the pro-war fire by introducing the nostalgia of the individual soldier's lives. there is nothing inherently wrong with this, except that it subverts the meaning of war from the political to the emotional, suggesting that war is acceptable/meaningful because of individual sacrifice. It is like these movies (including behind enemy lines, etc.) are preparing us for the eventual making of the movie called 'operation enduring freedom' (or whatever bush now calls what is being done in afganistain). Alais, I am just sickened by the loss of life (on both sides!)...and the profit certain people make from it whether it is in real life or on the screen!
