We Should Have Friday Off

Spooner

Lifer
I vote we move toward a 4-day workweek, 3 day weekend.

It just makes more sense. Can't really do work on Fridays anyhow. 😎

I used to work three 12 hour shifts, and get paid for 40. Very cool. Only had to work 13 days a month 🙂

i don't get a weekend. i get 2 days off, 1 on the weekend and one weekday. call center ops determines schedules, and the best guys on the floor pick first, and they take the whole weekend off.

<< alright Spooner...even though you don't like HHBB2003....i'm in. >>

it's not really that i don't like it... more like i grew tired of it

Where are the managerial decisions to keep things interesting? The gameplay is fun, but it gets old if that's the only thing it has going for it. Also, did you notice that it's hard to keep a pitcher going past 5 innings? They just get rocked no matter if it's Pedro Martinez or Joe Schmo

Neither is that :disgust:

Maybe I don't care because I don't work all that hard anyway.

Software developers should work Friday - Monday and take Tu, W, Th off.

Software always ships on a Monday, including small builds. 🙂

Keep the 5-day workweek, but make the standard vacation day allocation 25-30 days instead of 10-15. I still don't understand how you are supposed to allocate 10 measly vacation days over an entire year. Take a week-long vacation in the summer and you only have 5 stupid days left! Taking off the day after Christmas (where nobody does any work whatsoever) brings that down to 4. Sure, if you work for a company 10 years you start getting some real vacation time, but let me see a show of hands of software developers who stay at the same company for 10+ years!

I have 4 weeks a year and in a few years it will be 8. 😀

I'm all about 4-day work week, but consider:
You admittedly slack off on Friday.
Now you won't work on Friday NOR will you work on Thursday for the same reason you slack on Friday now.
