Screenshots dont do the game justice at all. When you see those monsters comming at you grunting and groaning while you vigorlessly try to reload coupled with awesome sound files, it just makes you wanna say ooohh mamma.

In my opinion, the only reason to buy a 9800 Pro right now is if you're doing a substantial upgrade from an outdated system or video card. If you have a 9700 Pro already, it's really useless to purchase the 9800. Hold off, save your money, and wait to see then benchmarks on the NV35 and 9900 Pro.
In my case, I'm still running a GeForce 2 Ultra - so I need something big and bad.

I'm one of those folks upgrading from a dinosaur. My GeForce256 finally died in my PII 400 rig. I let my wife believe that the computer "died" (yes I know that was a bad thing) and am in the process of building an HTPC/Gaming/Video Editing rig. I've got all the parts except for the video card and mobo/cpu/ram. I want the AIW 9800 Pro and I'll continue to continue to let the mobo/cpu/ram bundle price fall while I'm waiting. So the video card is holding me up. What is the collective group think these days about when the AIW 9800 Pro will be available from ATI or retail?

lol, i've been putting off a video card update for who knows how long, im still on a GF4 Mx440 64mb ddr. patheic? pretty much. anyways, i can't find a reason to justify a new one, since the only game i play is warcraft III and my system runs that more than fine. ah well, maybe a new game will prompt the upgrade someday. then i'll probably have to upgrade my lowly xp1600+ too :\
