We Need Your Help - Advertisment

This happened a few times in the past. The ad farm that the ads on Anandtech come from sometimes have "inadvertently" placed advertisements that are not allowed in to appear.
 
I believe that's one of those floating ads.

My Maxthon browser can block ads like them, though.

Did somebody swap the forum server with an Ad server?

Wouldn't have shown up for me if I would have not just been on a clean install and had Adblock Plus installed 😉

Yep ... I use Opera just about exclusively & have never seen it.

I use IE7 exclusively and have never seen it either, despite spending a fair amount of time here. I don't have any unusual tweaks (HOSTS files or antispyware apps), except that I arbitrarily block 3rd-party cookies using IE7's privacy options.

As a matter of curiosity, for those of you who've seen the pop-ups, run the Secunia Software Inspector checkup. Do you come up fully-patched?

(install Sun Java Runtime if you don't have Java already, so you can run the checkup)
