This is a useless idea which feels good and does nothing. What we need are good jobs. This does nothing to accomplish that.

Excessive concentration of wealth is a problem, and the first step to tackling that is to tackle the compensation issue.
-snip-

I think the best way to tackle excessive concentration of wealth is the estate (death) tax.

That's a big part of it's original purpose. You make a ton of money (legally), fine you get to keep/enjoy the fruits of your productivity. But the estate tax would prevent the establishment of an aristocracy.

Congress has gutted the estate tax over the years. That's what needs to be fixed.

At $500 a person a month it would only be around 1.8 Trillion a year. Do you know how much it would help a family of 4, it would be around 24,000 of extra tax free income a year. The goal of this is to redistribute the people's wealth, and to end poverty.

Obviously for a single person 500 a month isn't enough to live, but it will help those who are making minimum wage.

The concept of children producing cash-flow went out with child labor laws.

Just because you are rich does not mean you are an aristocrat. Aristocracy means the government is run by a rich elite career politicians and bureaucrats. Aristocracy occurs due to lifetime bureaucrats and politicians in government accumulating power. An estate tax PROMOTES the development of an aristocracy because it funnels money from private individuals to those politicians (especially those whom write the tax laws). Furthermore, all an estate tax does is encourage the rich to waste all of their money on hookers & blow instead of investing it.

Estate taxes have been a tool of the communists. They are pure class warfare and a huge detriment to the economy.

Nice to see the correct term used.

Evidence for 'huge detriment to the economy'? You don't have any, IMO. Prove me wrong.

Can someone explain to me why a million dollars a year limit on income wouldn't be enough for someone. Do you not see a problem when we have people who are so rich they have more money then they know what to do with, people with billions of dollars in wealth, and we have women and children who are homeless with no income dying in the streets and ditches from exposure, lack of healthcare, and lack of food and water.

Easy, that someone has 1.5 million dollars a year in expenses. Obviously, only 1 million dollars a year puts them a full half a million short.

I like how you said "women and children". I guess it doesnt matter if homeless men die :\

And I dare you to find one, non mentally ill, person in America who literally died of starvation.

No, no one can explain that to you. Unless maybe it's that lady who taught sign language to a gorilla. Maybe she could give it a shot.

Freedom and Liberty. Is that enough of an explanation for you?
