We need a screen shot comparison on HL-2----

How big is the difference between DX 8 and DX 9 shaders? I would like to see some kind of a screenshot or video comparison so as to see what the actual benifit is. In Anand's review he mentioned that the TI4600 kept up in some respects, but it "didn't look as nice" because it used the DX8 route to render the shaders. To what degree is "not as nice"?

I'd also like to see the difference between full dx9 and the nv30 mixed mode. I'm sure the difference isn't anywhere near the difference between dx9 and dx8, but I'd like to see the difference.

Those screenshots dont really give much away about the differences. You can pick out the difference in the water, but in terms of the walls, there are minor differences. I would have preferred to see an outdoor scene or a point where you have multiple types of reflections going on like off of metal and water, etc.

Ditto that - it's too dark to see much difference. Would also be nice if the shots opened multiple windows so you easily flip back and forth between the shots.

Would have to see some bmp or tga files at full resolution to see what is going on, can only tell the water difference from those. Actually ingame movies would be much better because motion across the shaders is what will be noticable.

Exactly. Its hard to show the difference in a screen shot.

I cant see a bloody difference, I am blessed, whohoo, I can run at DX8.0 and in my eyes not miss a thing.
