Well boys and girls, Uncle Sams donations in taxes back to my pocket arrived today in the mail. Sheesh my wife was going to try and hide it from me, but, hehe I beat her to it. ;)

Anyhow, I'm really dreaming of the Samsung 244T now.

Check out my GameRig specs below. I just upgraded my rig and from what I gather gaming at 1900X1200 with this bad boy should be awesome with my system specs.

Anyone had a go with the Samsung 244T, or own one running a SLI box that can vouch for them? My understanding is they are the leaders in supplying most LCDs their panels. In other words, one of, if not the leader in LCD panels.

Also yes I know Dell is the hot word on their big LCDs, but I won't own a Dell if you gave it to me, HONEST, I'd sale it.

Let me hear your words on other GREAT, and I do mean great 24", blistering 1900X1200 LCD, SLI gaming.

THANKS

P.S. The black display won?t conform to the TCO ?03 standard, whereas this silver model does ? the black version is only TCO ?99 certified. Does this really matter?

Boy since this post, I have been reading some bad reviews for people using this LCD for gaming and they say to stay away from it, that it suffers some bad lag, and say I'm better off getting the Apple Cinema 23".

I have to admit I haven't heard anything bad on this Apple so far. Now all I have to do, as a PC user is get past the fact it's a Apple, LMAO ;)

But for gaming can, or will HDCP come into play, come about? I know at this point they're saying this is for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs playback. But what is the possibility of HD ported over into gaming on Vista in the future?

Will next generation gaming start going the route of HD-DVD or blue ray? If not, then I might consider the Apple.

THANKS

If you are die-hard shooter player and you have played with the responsiveness of a CRT (like I have) for many years be prepared to be disappointed by the response time of an LCD... I bought the 2405fpw from Dell based on all the GREAT RAVING reviews and while yes it is bar none a sweet ass monitor... there still IS lag especially in "Up close and personal fights".. matter o fact I got a pretty killer rig for games made within the last year and let me tell ya what I was getting "OWNED" by my father-in-law, my brother-in-law in Call of Duty 2. I was like WTF!!!! You guys SUCK!

Finally I try playing on a system with a CRT and instantly begin owning everybody again. I could immediately notice the difference in the precision of the player model updates on the screen and the ability to make fine quick adjustments to aiming. When going back to the LCD system I noticed the stuttery player models instantly. I really think the people that will tell you otherwise don't have the time on a CRT to base an opinion off of and just scream what a great screen this is. There IS a difference in Fast Response games.

Bottom line you may be switchin back to your CRT occasionally like I do.

I'd say wait and see how the 2407 turns out. Should be out in a week or two I believe. If it turns out to have fixed the lag/input issues of the 2405 without sacrificing the image quality then great, if not, then you'll have plenty of other options to choose from.

HP has some 23" and 24" models. I think most of them have gotten very good reviews.

I believe Zebo was going to test out some new 23" Philips.

There's of course Apple too.
