Will not or should not ever happen.. There are alot of teachers that aren't even freaking qualified to teach.. and Congressman support giving them more responsibilities of carrying a loaded firearm.. yeah.. that will fix everything

You'll then have some wacko teacher lighting up the whole fvcking classroom because someone forgot their homework..

So very true. I would support this if it weren't for this.

I suspect school shootings would go up as teachers start blowing away students that they feel are too stupid to live.

Nobody understands Wisconsin gun policies, even people from Wisconsin. On the one hand, Wisconsin is a HUGE gun state. I have four, my roommate has one. A friend down the hall has three, his roommate has two. Those are just the people I know of. On the other hand, there is no CCW law here.

Easier fix would just be to repeal laws on concealed carry in school buildings or school sport functions. I'm not aware of a federal ban on school property. In TX you can walk all the way up to the door, just not inside. Those gun free school zone signs don't mean anything.

No reason to suggest teachers to carry or anyone else. Just don't prohibit those who already do. Shouldn't have anything to do with the faculty at all. Maybe some mom is up there for her kids parent/teacher meeting. No reason to allow the teacher to carry but not the mom.

Thats apparent.

How is having a teacher carrying a gun making it easier for a kid to get it?

Or maybe your chose not to really read the article, but read the title and let your emotions take control and override what little logic you may have.

It might not be politically correct, but it has worked effectively in other countries, Republican Rep. Frank Lasee said Wednesday.

"To make our schools safe for our students to learn, all options should be on the table," he said. "Israel and Thailand have well-trained teachers carrying weapons and keeping their children safe from harm. It can work in Wisconsin."

Lasee said he planned to introduce legislation that would allow school personnel to carry concealed weapons. He stressed that it would hinge on school staff members getting strict training on the use of the weapons, and he acknowledged he would have to work around a federal law that bans guns on school grounds.

I saw we just add full body armor with the heavy duty ballistic plates as part of the school supply shopping list. It adds protection and doubles as a form of physical fitness since you have an extra 80 pounds or so to carry around each day. Helps the overweight kids burn a few extra calories while they are waddling around from class to class.

they could do it like they were going to do with pilots, those that had training could apply for a special program to carry weapons

wouldn't it be simpler to put a police officer in each school?

Not really. It would be pitifully easy to ambush that lone cop, kill him and proceed on you rampage. Truly, the best course of action is to properly train teachers and give them the opportunity to carry. At that point you'll have dozens of trained armed people capable of stopping the attacker. As opposed to one cop who would be better served out on the streets catching criminals rather then lounging around school waiting to get ambushed.

Yup, also remember that cops are NOT trained for combat, they are trained to write tickets, fill out paperwork, and make ocassional arrests (yes, a gross oversimplification, but also true).
