I couldn't say it's full of bigots, but the recent passage of gay marriage bans/amendments in every state proposed is saddening. My sig is more a gut wrenching reaction to those than anything else, but I'll leave my opinions for those threads 😛

I would say a lot of it is bigotry, and people don't realize that gays don't really hurt anyone... so.... Shy should you just hate them for no reason? This country has many religions, and is very diverse. Taking something away like this just decreases the diversity which makes this country great. (no, I'm not saying that gay marriage is the only way to make this country great).
