We Happy Few

I watched Jim Sterling play it, and I think I had some misconceptions on what this game would be prior to seeing it. Based upon the announcement videos that I saw awhile back, I figured that this would be a lot like Bioshock, which sounds awesome to me. However, after seeing actual gameplay, this looks more like Fallout or yet another survival game.

I downloaded and played the demo of it. The demo allows you to play for 45 mins, which is enough time to get an idea of game play but no where near enough to get to the interesting parts.

It does have a very heavy Bioshock vibe to it. The game play is more FPS with some RPG stuff like crafting, supply hunting and inventory slots. It also defaults to "once you die you have to start over". I kinda like that idea, but I can see it being very frustrating later on. I have no idea how long the story is, but I would hate to be 5+ hours in and suddenly have to start over. It does give you that feeling that you should play a bit more cautiously though.

I'm still not sure it's worth the price tag. I guess that really boils down to how long the story is. While I'm told it's around 5-20 hours depending on what you do, I've found that most of the time they say that people end up clocking in less. I'm going to give it a whirl, mostly because I want to get to the areas where you have to pop your Joy pills to see the contrast.

I am subbed to someone who plays this after every update, and supposedly there is going to be more story than whats currently in the early access version. I'm not into the crafting perm death stuff, but the game world is kinda interesting. Kinda reminds me of The Prisoner tv show.

Saw this game, and it does have a Bioshock feel to it from the previews.

I hear its not that great due to the lack of content.
Its a survival that just endless repeats over and over, like Dead Rising 3.

However the game is still in development, so i guess it has potential, but i feel the comments are saying the game requires more story content to be officially released.

I watched the trailers on steam and thought it looked good and really interesting but the lack of gameplay or really any information about the type of game it is or any of the mechanics was enough to put me off buying.

Decades of gaming have taught me that gameplay is king and never buy something you have no idea how it plays.

oh yeah, the bioshock thing is real.

i played the build before this last, it's very, very unfinished. since the fun is discovering what you need to do to progress, and how to survive, you only really get one shot at fun.
combat is about as challenging as it is in minecraft.

i recommend you wait until it's "nearly done" before you play it.

Same here. It does look unique and hopefully it'll turn out good but I'll wait until it's actually out of "In Development" before even commenting on it. It's not even useful reading early access reviews since half the stuff marked as negative may well have changed by final release date.
