Personal opinion on sex is. How I view it is I believe that oral sex is a form of sex because the bodily fluid exchange, also the intent on providing pleasure to the other, and it is just as risky to contract infections as unprotected sex. Intercourse is obviously sex. But things like "handjobs" and "fingering" that kind of stuff I think is the only other real form sex-alternative....short of Abstinance.

I guess I never really considered it the same... I mean, when I think of sex, I think of both people being physically pleased and stimulated at the same time, mainly by the movement of the man's meatstick.

I'd say it's sex, since it is a sexual relation. If you answer it counts as losing your virginity you are a buffoon.

Around the time Clinton was being impeached.

Although I hate the guy, he made BJs mainstream and girls give those out like free t-shirts.

Jeez everyone is so uptight about the words around here. I am surprised nobody said "that depends on what the definition of is is" (Bill Clinton).
OK here's my take.
There are many terms when it comes to sex.
Bottom line. If you are engaging in an activity that bring sexual pleasure to one or more parties, you are engaging sexual activity or sex for short. Sexual intercourse (vaginal penetration) is just one form of sex.
No you cannot lose your viginity to a blow job. Virginity is the rupturing of a woman's hymen (sp?) through penetration. Technically a man cannot be a virgin, we just expanded the use to include men (Websters does list a definition that includes men).
If when you say sex, you mean sexual intercourse, then a BJ is not sex, otherwise it is (Depending on the definition of is).

To those of you who think that mouths and hands and etc is not sex... and that only penetration counts..

hahaha!!! come back if/when you have a teenage daughter... let's see if you tell them that they can go out and do anything but penetration and it doesnt count.

The problem is that the word has changed over the years. It used to be that sex=intercourse. Now "sex" is a more general term. At least that's how I see it...

i can't believe this hasn't been posted yet:
-=| TAKE THE PLEDGE OF TECHNICAL VIRGINITY! |=-

Print this pledge and sign it. Print extra copies for your
friends and ask them to sign it, too. Then enjoy your new
life of sexual fulfillment free of the risk of pregnancy!

1) I believe that vaginal heterosexual intercourse and its
accompanying possible consequences of pregnancy should be
postponed until marriage or college, whichever comes first.

2) I believe that orgasms are an important part of a healthy
and balanced life.

3) I believe that masturbation should be encouraged among
males and females of all ages, both by manual methods and
with the use of vibrators, dildos and other such devices.

4) I believe that sharing orgasms with others, via manual,
oral, and anal sex between consenting partners, whether of
my same sex or the opposite sex (providing proper safety
techniques are utilized) is a moral and desirable activity
for myself and my peers.

5) I will encourage others to join me in my beliefs and
activities.

I began noticing it in the early 80s. I think it's from all of the drug induced pregnancies from the 60s and 70s and now stupidity has built up dominance in the gene pool. ;)

Sex is sex. No matter what prefix you assign to it.

I remember in high school this one guy convinced his girlfriend that she'd still be a virgin if they only had anal sex.

Therefore oral sex is not sex

you logic is based on a fallacious assumption about losing your virginity.

I think most of the people that have given the moron answer to the first question think that the use of the word "sex" in "having sex" is an exclusive meaning. The truth is that "having sex" is an expression that uses the word sex to describe a particular act. Sex is pretty much anything involving sexual pleasure. Self-administered pocket pool is a sex act...

Losing your virginity requires penile penetration...

And a girl who gives BJ's to the whole football team is still a virgin even if she is a whoooer...
