Wee!

that was a terrible closing.

it started off great. But then when the sellers got the paper work and was going over it with there lawyer they found out they are not getting as much back as they thought they were. They called and was told they will get back $9k. But they found out they were only going to get back $4k

Also the other mortgage company will NOT release the money they have in Escrow for taxes. Plus they had to pay out almost $4k in taxes out of the sale today (which is why they aren't getting as much as thought) She said that they were NOT going to sign the papers.

They went out with there attorney into another room for about 15 minutes and came back. They then signed the papers. They have to go at 3pm to close on the new place.

sigh they are also staying in the house until the 5th of next month. I just hope they do not damage the place. PLUS my MIL (mother-in-law) keeps saying that she is going to store stuff in the basement. We agreed that she could keep her books (she has i would say a few thousand books) UNTIL the add on gets built on the new place or 6 months. But now she keeps adding stuff. Every time we say NO she gets mad and puts my wife on a guilt trip. Saying she sold us the house under cost (not true. it appraised for exactly we paid for it). She had a appraisal done by the tax department that listed it at $155k BUT at a 5 bedroom 2 bath house. the appraisal we had was at $138k but it is a 3 bedroom with an office and 1.5 bat.

Sigh. This is getting tiresome. We should have NEVER agreed to purchase the house.

We took them out for lunch (a great asian place in town) and all she did was try to put us on a guilt trip. bah

Looking for a house right now and our realtor told us to estimate 3% of purchase price for closing costs.

I paid about 10K at closing, but got 12K back (thanks to Realtor.com rebate, broker rebate and seller's RE agent bonus that I demanded and got)
