What happens is when i go to install win2k, XP or Win98 it just sits says "reading system info and does nothing. I flashed the bios but still no go
any ideas??

Though it might not like my 80 gig hdd but does same thing with my 40 & 20 gig hdd plz help!!!

Have you tried installing it as a basic system ie:

One stick of RAM
simple graphics card
no NIC, sound etc or other expansion cards?

This could work, then you can install/configure other stuff later once the OS is in place.

Try swapping out the CD-ROM and IDE cable and make sure the IDE cable is firmly inserted at both ends, no nicks or cuts in the cable. I once had a CD-ROM that was acting flaky, and it turned out that the IDE cable had a small nick, barely noticable, that was causing the problem. Replaced the cable, everything was fine.

Does the BIOS always recognize the CD-ROM?

Whoa! Not only is Wellcky having problems with his computer but an identity crisis too! :Q

Some guys definitely have it rough.

You bet I'm happy! A steak to satisfy my carnivorous cravings, and PC hardware to satisfy my technical tinkering! 😀

I also noticed that my memory can only run at 133 on the DRAM clock, if that makes any sense, I wonder why PC2700 wont run @ 166 hmmm..

Check the DRAM voltage ,maybe its too low?
I think for PC2700 its supposed to be 2.6v ,2.5v for PC2100...............can't remember where I saw that now!😱
