Fine. I refuse service because those shoes are so last year. It has nothing to do with the gayness.

Making everything illegal is how we became a culture of liars. If you ever get fired from a job, they will never say why you were fired. Everything is for "not being a team player" or something that is equally meaningless. It would be nice if people could just say what they mean.

Yup. Would also be nice if entire towns could decide they didn't want to provide services to those uppity negros to keep them out of the community.

Not that that would ever happen.....

History has shown that when you leave these issues up to "the market", hallowed be thy name, discrimination can run rampant because people do not behave rationally.

You're free to tell people why you don't like them for their innate traits. Nothing is stopping you there. You simply can't discriminate because of a protected class in terms of employment and public accommodation.

What's to stop them from creating their own businesses? A lot of Mexican immigrants start businesses. A lot of Asian immigrants start businesses. Black men and gay men are capable of running their own businesses. Tim Cook is gay and he runs one of the largest companies in the world, Apple.

As long as they start them somewhere else right? Not in our community? Since we don't want their kind here which is why we won't serve them in the first place.

Good question. Lets assume Tim Cook went into the bakery that lost the suit. He offers free iPhones & iPads for the owner and his family for life plus he'll pay 250k for the gay cake Tim wants it to be the gayest cake any human could bake. Would they still turn down the business?

This is the death knell for small business in this country. This is proof that this whole gay rights thing is just part of a plot to totally destroy this country. Instead of less government, less regulation, less red tape, we get this disgusting bullcrap. This is one of those things that could truly blow up in a big way. When this country falls apart the gays are going to be blamed for a good deal of it. These people's minds are all messed up, not specifically because they are gay, but because they think this type of outrageous sort of bureaucracy is a good thing. Rights and social freedom are made possible through prosperity. When you destroy the engine of prosperity you destroy the foundation for freedom.

To summarize: You stupid liberal commie bastards think you can force a business to do whatever the hell you want. But you cant force a frickin business to stay in business. Stupid goddam commie trash.
How is barring businesses from discriminating against protected classes "forcing businesses to do whatever the hell" we want? And why would ALLOWING such discrimination be "pro-business?" Are you fvcking insane?

According to them, not allowing businesses to refuse service to gays is going to force those businesses under.

Money, desire, ability? Maybe they just want to eat a cake, not run a cake business.

Yep. I'm Jewish, and my ancestors have dealt with this for a long time. We would form our own tightly knit communities, start our own businesses, and we would get to call the shots in those companies. Now we control the world's media, laws, and banking. Refusing to hire people doesn't stop them from prospering. It just causes that prosperity to happen elsewhere.

And why would ALLOWING such discrimination be "pro-business?" Are you fvcking insane?
Where have you been for the last 30 years? Business owners and bosses are scared of lawsuits. Companies shouldn't even have HR departments. Why the hell do we need yearly training about workplace harassment and discrimination? It's fear of lawsuits. It makes every work environment in the country a hostile work environment. You can't talk about sex because it might offend someone, you can't talk about politics because it might offend someone, you can't express any opinions about anything because it might offend someone. You can be sued for damn near anything. This is probably the reason convenient stores are run by immigrants. People growing up in the US are raised to be terrified of lawsuits. People from China just see opportunity; they have not been exposed to outrage culture.

Is he refusing to bake them the cake or refusing to decorate the cake in a manner that signifies it is to be used in a gay wedding?

Before you say what difference would that make, consider this

religion is a protected class

even pagan religions

http://www.religioustolerance.org/witchcr3.htm

David March is an inmate at the Marquette Branch Prison operated by the Michigan Department of Corrections. While in prison, he converted to Wicca. March initiated a suit under 42 U.S.C. g 1983 in a U.S. district court against the prison warden, his administrative assistant and the religious coordinator. They had prevented him from using incense in his rituals. His lawsuit claimed "that the defendants have deprived him of his First Amendment right to freely exercise his religion and his Fourteenth Amendment right to equal protection of the laws."
The memorandum recognizes:

topbul1d.gif
Wicca as a legitimate religion,
topbul1d.gif
that some Wiccans are solitary practitioners and others are part of covens,

topbul1d.gif
that there are differences in beliefs among Wiccans and Wiccan traditions as there are in Christianity,
topbul1d.gif
that the inmate's 1st and 14th Amendment rights were violated.
So if a Wicca, Satanist, other pagan wants him to bake a cake and decorate it in a manner signifying the religion at the ceremony, does he have a right to refuse on religious grounds or must he accommodate them like all other protected classes?

"Colorado law prohibits places of public accommodation from refusing to serve people based on sexual orientation."

I wonder what they will do at finding me making a poor cake.

First, they came for the non gay serving bakery's but I did not speak out, because I was a gay serving bakery,

then they came for the jews, but I did not speak out because I was not a jew.

then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out.

Not really.

The large leap is calling Gay's a protected class.

Pretty soon, I'll have to make cakes that celebrate two girls, one cup, etc.

"Have to make."

Like seriously, at the cost of going to jail, if I don't make their cake.

That's fucking bullshit.

That's Government with a weapon, forcing me to do something I would never, ever, do otherwise.

The solution is very simple; open up a private club like business - you can then refuse whomever you want. You probably won't make much money, since you will be closed off to the general public, but, you'll be safe from all the homosexuals, dark skinned people and toasters that want to get married to your daughter.

Not "have to make", but forced to make - get it right correct.

Oh, and the cakes need to be made of aborted fetuses from mothers who wanted to keep the baby.

Speaking of protected classes; seen any white terrorists crazies lately?

You don't seem to understand that America was born on a principal of individual freedom.

Not serving some gay puff a cake.
