Yes. In fact they will tell you that themselves if you ask them. There are of course some people with some nutty views there, but by and large they are about stopping the parasitic and corrupt practices of Wall St, not eliminating wealthy people.
 
At the end of the day most people are selfish. If they are in a cushy well-paying job they're angry that they're paying more taxes. If they are in a needy spot, they are angry that they don't get enough help. There's only so much each side can do to justify their feelings.

What's important is what percentage of the electorate is feeling what. Right now, the trend is towards helplessness and dissatisfaction with the current economic status quo which is fairly conservative in this country. At the rate things are going things are going to get worse economically and we may very well see 1930s style policy adjustments. I don't see most Americans, especially those raised comfortably playing video games and being told that they could accomplish anything by their parents, being willing to accept hardship in the name of Ayn Rand.
 
Progressive taxation schemes vs. Regressive taxation schemes are starting to become a big point of contention between the parties, and may be a big issue in the campaign.

It seems that the right is advocating for a more regressive scheme, which I and many other fear would be disastrous.

what is your point you know this is just splitting hairs. its already been mentioned every rich person isn't evil. every company isn't evil. Relax they aren't coming for your tiny savings account.

Ummm...a man is dead. There is nothing wrong with a moment of silence. Also, being dead means that he is no longer part of the problem - he gets a free pass now since he couldn't take that wealth with him, nor use it any longer.

My point is that the occupy fools are a bunch of idiotic hypocrites who are against the greed of the rich, unless it some how helps them out.

They love Steve Jobs for everything he created and what those creations have done for them, but they hate the system that allowed Jobs to be successful in the first place.

What are they for then?

Why does the front page of their web site have the phrase "We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%."

Seems that they are against the rich since the 1% is certainly meant to be the 1% wealthiest people in the country.


And there is insane irony in them bitching about the greed of the 1% and then turning around and claiming the solution is for things to be given to them for free.
