The earliest date I can find for that Osama bin Laden quote is 2004. At the start of 2004, the national debt was $7T. Since then, it's more than doubled to over $14T.

What would you rather have? A dead bin Laden or a sound, vibrant economy?

I don't think the two are related in any way. Do you really think the people in DC would spend & waste any less depending on OBL's status? No.

DC is the problem, and it is a direct reflection of the population demanding more and more without a willingness to pay for it.

Considering both wars, over the course of 10 years, have cost less combined than the last budget deficit, I'd have to agree with PokerGuy.

The government is bleeding America, not terrorists.

The American people don't need Bin Laden to help them bankrupt themselves. They're perfectly capable of it alone.

I'd rather the American people have cheap food and gas. Today they have neither.

Seems that US prices for food and gas are about
the cheapest among all the devellopped countries...

Want them for free.???..

LOL. My point in starting this thread was exactly your initial comment. Hunting down Osama bin Laden has little relevance to the American economy.

The euphoria at OBL's demise at a time like this is tantamount to high-fiving your retarded kid for making a basket in the driveway while your house burns down.

Ah - So you merely felt like being an ass.

Thanks

Forgive me if I grow weary of the stupidity of a nation that decided to spend trillions of dollars and thousands of lives hunting the Moslem boogeyman on the other side of the planet instead of actually addressing the underlying issues that give rise to many of our problems. :p

And forgive me for telling someone who fundamentally agrees with me that he's being an ass merely for the sake of being an ass.

But this is P&N, so pardon me for expecting differently.

No worries, I was most definitely being an ass. :) It is P&N!

Sometimes I wonder what we could have done with a decade and trillions of dollars poured into alternative energy research. Hell we ushered in the atomic age with less money and less time. We could have made the Middle East irrelevant again, just like it was before the rise of the internal combustion engine. Much like the strife and unrest in Sudan now - not our problem.

You seem to be suffering from the delusion that all government policies and actions should be based on their relevance to the economy.

America doesn't need AQ to do this it just needs Americans with no math skills, which it has in spades.

Actually, Usama was speaking on behalf of Faux News & the Republican Party.

They need foreign enemies to distract us from their domestic economic agenda, and he served them well.

Sounds more like you are the retarded kid high-fiving yourself in this thread.

Why do we have a judicial system in this country? Why do we have police officers? Why do we have a military? Connect the dots yourself.
