WDR 3600 best settings for torrents

I just bought this router, and was searching for a guide for Utorrent in order to max out the torrents download speed.

I found this one..

While it looks good, it slows down my web browsing experience, i wonder what could be the reason for that? afaik this are settings which make my router work harder, but it should be more then capable to do so. If not please someone give me some general settings which i should use for Utorrent, i found many guides with different settings and wasted like 4 hours trying to find the best guide without success, any help would be appreciated.

Maximizing torrent speeds will reduce your normal web browsing speeds because the router is letting the torrent program do whatever it wants to with your connection, including opening hundreds (or thousands) of active connections and using up all available bandwidth.

Lots of home routers have limited memory which means limited room for NAT tables, some of the lower end linksys ive seen lock entirely from using torrents, 2mb of memory gets eaten fast when there are tons of connections open.

There is also the fact that the more bandwidth you are letting the torrent program have, the less there is left for browsing.

Thanks guys. While i understand your point, keep in mind i got powerful router, which should be capable of alot more then 450 connections, which is my Utorrent setting.

It has 128 mb ram, and 8mb flash, Gigabit router, so 450 connection should be easy mode for it?


BTW on my previosu aged WRT54GL, it was NEVER this slow, i had slowdowns, it was 50 mb connection then, but yet it was alot faster during web browsing compared to now.
