Hi. Long time lurker, first time poster here...
I recently bought a WD4000KD hard drive to add to my system and my BIOS is detecting it as CHS instead of LBA. Is this normal or will this be a problem?
If I change the type in the BIOS From Auto I can select Large, and then it shows as LRG and still not LBA. Either way Windows XP Pro is showing the full size of the drive.
If it is normal which would be better, CHS or LRG, or would it not make any difference.
My boot drive is a 74 Gig Raptor (SATA) which shows up properly as LBA. I also have two WD 120 Gig PATA drives in the system with RAID 0, not sure the model numbers on those but they're the old ones with 2 megs cache.
My motherboard is an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe with the latest BIOS, version 1016.
If you need any more info please let me know.
Thanks in advance for your help.
