Newegg has finally got the new single platter drives in stock in oem form. Just thought I'd pass this along.
 
Great makes me want these too. I picked up 3 of the 640gb type from WD too. I must stop spendinggggggggggggggg!!
 
WD has been shipping them since January under the same model name as their old 2 x 166GB platter drive, it's just been a tossup as to which drive you'd get if you went retail.
 
I will order one when the two platter drives disappear, like Sheninat0r said, it probably is still a toss up.
