i just bought a WD 320GB AAKS SATA drive and im disappointed with the access time

the drive will be used for game install only and will be partitioned right down the middle with my favourite & new games on the first partiton and old/rarely played games & demos on the second

think with such high access it will affect performance/loading times

should i sell the drive and take a small loss and get something else?

you need to download HITACHI FEATURE TOOL. its a bootable ISO. Boot off it, and go to the AAM setting in that program, reset it to maximum performance, your access times will go from 15 to 12.
also, try HD Tune pro. theres a setting to change your AAM in that as well. however, once you set the setting in HFT, you'll need to change it in HD Tune pro to get the correct results. (i belive free HD Tune doesnt have this, so set the setting in the feature tool, and then run HD Tune free, see what you get)

already used the Hitachi tool to increase AAM to the maximum
before i did it was 16.5ms

but nm now i am going to keep the drive ive discovered 3-4ms should make that much difference
