WD RMA Service : One month, still no replacement.

WD collected my 640GB AAKS drive exactly one month ago. No replacement yet. Is this 'normal' ?

E-mail response from WD :
Kindly wait your case has been escalated to the concern department to ship the replacement drive.
 
Call. Companies often consider email contact the lesser of priorities. Some never send a reply or repeatedly send some script to tire you away.
 
Eight weeks later :
As the drive is not in stock in our warehouse hence we are facing difficulty in shipping the replacement drive to you.
...
WD can just keep on repeating that till the warranty period expires !?
