WD RMA Service : One month, still no replacement.

WD collected my 640GB AAKS drive exactly one month ago. No replacement yet. Is this 'normal' ?

E-mail response from WD :
Kindly wait your case has been escalated to the concern department to ship the replacement drive.

What's the policy say for RMA's? If that's past their policy, call them on the phone..

Call. Companies often consider email contact the lesser of priorities. Some never send a reply or repeatedly send some script to tire you away.

Eight weeks later :
As the drive is not in stock in our warehouse hence we are facing difficulty in shipping the replacement drive to you.
...
WD can just keep on repeating that till the warranty period expires !?

if you complain more and more, maybe they'll offer you an upgraded drive (better specs / capacity)

I dont know but the last time I did a WD RMA was maybe 3-4 years ago. It never took 1 month thats for sure.

I just did an RMA for a 1.5TB EADS, they sent me back an EAXS within a couple days of receiving the defective drive.
