Yeah another one of these threads but im looking to buy a raptor so if anyone has both of these or one plz chime in. Im not concerned about the speed difference as anything is faster than my current drive (20gig not sure RPM but >5years old).

However i am concrened about noise. From what i hear the 74 gig is very quiet however i have heard that the 36.7 is not. Can anyone honestly say which is quieter. If the 36.7 is that would really help me because the 74 gig is so expensive.

74gb is quieter, since its newer it uses fluid bearings. Even though you don't care about speed, the 74gb is a good deal faster than the 36gb so keep that in mind.
