WD Raptor has ONE year warranty?

Warranty check on WDC website shows it expires NEXT June?

This is a RETAIL (not OEM) drive!

Check it yourself at wdc.com!

Look here

Reliability
MTBF 7 1,200,000 hours
Warranty 5 years

Seems it says 5 years elsewhere.

And if yours claims 1 year, I expect you can complain, as the website says 5 years, and the drive hasn't been out that long.

Might be an error on the website.

Sounds like they need a phone call! 😕 The retail package says 5-year warranty on it, does it not?

Yes it does. I got a call early this morning about this. Both drives are in a system I built for someone and they put the SN in just to see how long the warranty period was good for. Since most people discard the package long before a year is up (let alone five) it would be hard to prove. I guess the receipt is proof enough.

Nonetheless, I'm shocked. I put the SN of my SCSI disks in and some of them are good until 2008. 🙂
