Just hooked up MyBook Live 2 TB with (ethernet connection only) to my wired router, which sits behind my Zhone wireless/wired modem (required use by my internet provider.) All this runs on an HP Pavilion P7-1222, Win7, 8 gig ram.
Now, when I view my network, under the Other Devices category, I see hundreds (adding a new one each 20-30 seconds) of new wireless devices, also called Zhone Wireless Gateway. Under Network Infrastructure, the REAL Zhone Wireless Gateway (I'll call her MAMA
) appears only once, but under Other Devices, it keeps adding more and more of these buggers and I can't get it to stop!
WD tech support, even Tier 2, has no idea what is going on. Tech support at my ISP says they checked the MAMA Zhone Wireless Gateway and says it is alone and has no "babies" - but my system sees these "babies" everywhere. At the end of my rope and ready to put the MyBook LIVE back in box and give up on Cloud backups.....any suggestions or clues?
p.s. - rebooting Zhone Wireless Gateway and everything behind it (wired router, MyBook Live and HP computer) starts the count over at 1 and it continues to add a new "baby" every 30 seconds or so....also MyBook Live is intermittently losing network connections throughout the day - My internet connection was stable until I hooked this thing up....
