Ive been using this drive for about 6 months and was a RMA. I never had any problems with it at all untill I partitioned it with W2K intall. When doing read/write tasks I can hear the Read/write heads popping back into reset and then the RW task starts back where it left off. Extremely annoying and SLOWs my system down like mad and it generally occurs after a lot of HD activity.
I tried to remedy what I thought was a bad formatting by w2k by using WD's HD utility disk to repartition, but this made no difference.
Am I missing somehting here or is this drive on its way out again ? =p

Ohhh btw, its a WD 5400 30GB...I'm too lazy to get the model # off it unless that would be extremely helpful.
