how the f are we supposed to know?

either you want 120gig on a fairly fast hdd, or 1/3 of that on a faster one.

harsh but fair :p

Whoa. I was just wondering how big of an advantage a 10K rpm HD was compaired to a 7.2K one.

Not really that much. Some, certainly, but not enough to make me jump up and shout gee willikers. I have an 80GB WD Caviar and a Raptor both.

Yeah, I didn't figure a 2.8K rpm change was a huge difference. I just wanted to make sure with some veterans. Thanks Slammy.

Not really that much.


Actually could not tell any difference, the seek times will be lower, multitasking seemed a little faster [not worth the extra money.


But, if you plan to go with sata 10k raid 0, then you will be able to tell a noticable differnce.
