Has anyone had any experience (pleasant or otherwise) with WD's Firewire 800 External Drives?

Like this one, in 2 TB model.

My gf has a mac pro and was going to get one for back-ups. She liked the price, the mac-ish aesthetic, and the fact that it offered just the ports she's planning on using, and no others.
 
I ended up purchasing the one in the link.

It is clearly well-built, came formatted for osx, and is working nicely. It has a small footprint on the desk, which she and I both appreciate.

I would have preferred an on/off switch so she could leave it plugged in to everything and only turn it on when she wants to do back-ups, but it's not a deal-breaker.
