When I plug this external 2.5 drive into a laptop it works fine, but when I plug it into my main PC it brings up a message asking for a device driver and can't find it then in device manager there is just a "USB Device" in Other Devices listing.
I know the usb drive works, it's something wrong with my system. Other USB drives work fine with it, but they are powered externally. This drive is powered by USB only, I think that is the problem.
Nothing shows up in Admin Tools->Computer Management for the drive when plugged in. Have tried multiple USB ports on my motherboard plus on a PCI card.
Laptop and PC are both XP Pro SP3.
