Finally getting to round out my 40TB NAS unit with another couple of drives.

This is the cheapest NEW 10TB 3.5" desktop HDD that you can find, AFAIK. Btw, if you shuck it (*the purpose of these drives), then there is NO WARRANTY on the drive. But at this price, buy five of them, have a spare. Really.

Edit: Btw, you can "mine" with HDDs, using BurstCoin, among others. Seach YouTube for "mining with hard drive". There's a LLT video on it.

Do these 10TB drives have "red" NAS drives inside?

The 8TB drives eventually stopped having "red" drives inside. They switched to a white-label drive with tricky power input requirements.

Well, I bought two of these a few months ago (last month?), and they were 10TB Red 5400RPM 3.5" HDDs. I think that they were white-label, but they had the product code of the Red drives.

I honestly don't think that the label color really matter much, as long as the drive model is the same. They're probably saving a quarter of a cent not using the red dye/ink for the label.

As far as "tricky power requirements", what you are referring to, is the current SATA standard. It's not some funky proprietary WD thing. You'll find it on pretty-much all larger (6T and up) drives these days. (Edit: And it's not an issue, with Synology or QNAP NAS units. Only really if you whitebox, and use an older design PSU.)
