I just copied my entire C:\ onto this old WD SE, and it actually works! Godamn, what are all these people whining about having to reinstall when they get a new HD?

This is awesome.

What happened was, my IBM Deathstar took a dive, so I pulled it out, and put, in it's place, an ATA/33 Maxtor spare. Copied itself the entire WD drive archive from WD to Maxtor, then re-partitioned the WD with the WD software and it duplicates the old HD EXACTLY. Then you just switch drives and jumper settings and re-boot.

I always thought it didn't work , because I never tried it, and all i heard was horror stories.

I only know one person that used Lifeguard and it worked perfectly for him. Exactly as advertised.

Why are you argueing about what people are whining about?

WERE YOU THERE WITH ME AT THE EXACT SAME TIME, HIDING IN MY AFRO, WHILE THESE PEOPLE SAID WHAT THEY WERE SAYING?

Anyways, I should change the title/OP, because i just re-formatted and re-installed everything. MUCH BETTER.

For the record, Data lifeGaurd is good.
