Limit 5 drives, but someone on another site says the code only takes off $10 on your total order. Had thoughts of upgrading several cheap gaming lan rigs.

Replay, apparently if you have other accounts, you can place additional orders using the code once per account.

Yeah, i added 5 to my cart and the coupon only took off $10 total.
Perhaps you could do multiple orders though. it shows free shipping.

Bought 1. May buy more later.

Yeah, the code appears to only be good for one drive on one order. I tried to order a second drive using the same account, and the coupon code wasn't accepted. "Didn't meet the criteria" or some such was the message.

advanced format? in a 500GB HD? that's pretty lame. No worky for XP. :(

Edit: Damn, I guess it wasn't advanced format after all, even though newegg's product description page listed that. I thought that was strange for a small drive like a 500GB to be AF. Should have jumped when it was $25. :(

"The good news is, Western Digital has already solved the problem. Those of you who want to use an AF drive in Windows XP can either install a hardware jumper (if you plan to use a single, simple partition) or run a software tool called WDAlign. Either solution will restore the drive's full write performance, but WDAlign is what you'll need to use if you've created multiple partitions on a single disk. For our test, we compared the performance of a Caviar Black 1TB (32MB cache, 7200 RPM), and an Advanced Format Caviar Green 1TB (64MB cache, 5400RPM) in 32-bit Windows XP. The Caviar Green was tested both properly aligned and unaligned to highlight the impact of not using WDAlign or setting the requisite jumper."

This drive isn't advanced format after all.

And Newegg raised the price $10 right around 8:40AM Pacific.
