WD Caviar Black 500gb Noise?

Hi there,

I just bought 2 WD Caviar Blacks and made them raid 0. I used to have Samsungs which were very very quiet. But right now, i can hear this grinding noise..I hate noise...
is this noise normal?

Sounds like one of the drives is faulty if you can hear "grinding".

^^ Yes. My WD Blacks only make a slight mechanical noise followed by a whirring noise when spinning up from OFF. Nothing bad sounding. Grinding is definitely a bad sign.
