Yeah, they dropped the "green" label, and made two "blue" labels, one is 7200RPM, the other is 5400RPM (aka the old green).

They did this to prevent confusion.

The Z version is the 7200RPM ones....make that 5400 ones.

Actually, if you look at my link, the X models in 3.5" are the only 7200 models.

I am not confused at all! :colbert:

BTW, they still have purple, red, red pro, RE, SE, Ae, NV, and of course blacks.

Bah.

I sure hope they don't have SSDs labeled like this as well, after the Sandisk buyout.

I kind of wish that they would re-label Black drives, as 7200RPM Blue drives, in higher capacities, but with a shorter warranty than the Black drives.

I mean, they kind of did the reverse, they re-badged the 1TB Blue drives into Black drives, and dropped the true Black drive at the 1TB point, and just extended the warranty.

It will be interesting to know whether the new Blue 5400 disks retain the head parking feature.

AFAIK, it does. Timer was still set to 8s on a couple of brand new Blues that I got over the weekend. wdidle took care of that :)
