Rather get a Seagate 2TB 7200 RPM for $54.99.

I recently tried an 8TB 5400rpm Barracuda, and it was a disaster, basically the drive slows down to a crawl on longer writes. Not sure if the 2TB 7200rpm does the same thing, but I found their IronWolf line to be much better, even though it is 5400rpm as well. I have a review on MicroCenter's site for the 8TB Barracuda, added some speed graphs to it. I always used Barracudas before (up to 2TB), always had good performance and luck with them, until this 8TB dud.

So this is why consumer drives suck and I will never buy any of them unless I absolutely have to. Enterprise drives are typically no-compromise and no non-sense. And they can be found used for cheap if they're sas (which generally are more robust than any sata drive).

If noise, power and other such nit picks are going to bother you, then the 'nas' level drives are about as high quality as you will find. Real tools make real noises, and it's music to my ears letting me know they're doing their job.
