Which is a better deal, this WD Black 500GB NVMe for $150, or the Intel 660p 512GB for $99?

I'm guessing the WD would be faster, by quite a bit. The Intel 660p is a new QLC drive. I kind of have a sick desire to test out QLC, just to see how "bad" or how "tolerable" it is.

Personally I would say this is the better overall value. The 660P is a great value drive, which most consumers would be very happy with (as long as they don't fill it up too much), but it can't match the performance in all the various tests of the performance drives like the WD or 970 EVO. Now if the Western Digital drive was at its full MSRP of $200, I'd swing my vote over to the Intel.

Edit:

Another thing about the 512GB 660P is there are only reviews on the 1TB version, so the performance will likely be lower on the smaller capacity drive. Plus, the 512GB version is only rated for 100 TBW which is pretty low.
