I'm seeing NONE come up in the IDE detection thing when I start up my system. I thought the drive might be DOA, but isn't there some limitation in drives over 32GB or so? The motherboard I am working with is two years old.

Given that your motherboard is over 2 years old, it is highly likely that it cannot detect a full 80GB driver properly.

See if you can find a BIOS update for your motherboard. If not, then you can get a BIOS overlay program that will allow you to use the entire 80GB.

If it is a WD drive, you might have to set the drive as master. Remove the jumper pins and see if that helps.
