Could get 2 30 gig Maxtor drives from Staples after applying the online $25 off $100 coupon.

Basically do that twice and you have 60 gigs for under $200. Comes out to about $6 less then CompUSA.com plus free shipping.

Plus I LOVE my diamondplus drive. They are quiet and fast. The first time I installed it I didn't think it was working because I couldn't hear it!

does staples have this WD 30gb?

then... couldn't we pm it and use 20 off 100 coupon B&M and get it for 80+tax?
i don't necessarily need extra ram. and if this wd is anything like my WD 400bb (40gig one)... it's really quiet.

:) anyone tried this?

Went out and bought 2 of these drives for use in storing digital video. Have used both WD and Maxtor drives with no problems from either. A good deal especially from CompUSA

I've visited 3 different Staples stores in the last few days and none of them stocked any WD drives. However, this same drive is sold at Best Buy and Office Depot. You could PM at OD and use a $15 off $50 coupon and get it for $85+ tax. Or you could just PM it at Best Buy for $99. I would choose either of these two options over CompUSA because of CompUSA's horrible return policy.

BTW, I do have the WD 40BB, I think this one is the 30BB. The 40BB is fast and very quiet. Check it them out on storagereview.com.

PM=PriceMatch. Take the ad from CompUSA's sunday paper flyer to either BestBuy or OfficeDepot. Or if you don't have th ad, you could have BB or OD call and verify the price at CompUSA.

Well I picked up a couple of these today from my local store. Setting up a small raid server this weekend. Hope it works like a charm...

Wouldn't it be better to buy the drive from BB first, then go back for the pricematch after and they will give the extra 10% off?

I got in on this Sunday. Needed a WD 30 GB/7200 for an upcoming project.

The salesman attempted to sell me a "warranty" for $9.95. WD has a three year warranty anyway. I've seen the CompUSA salespeople try selling warranties on PNY memory which is warranteed for lifetime.

My local Best Buy had the price set at $99 already. Whenever CompUSA has something on sale, BB usually drops their price too. My CompUSA is only about 2 miles from Best Buy.
