WD 1TB External USB Drive

I'm wondering what type of drive is inside of the casing. PATA/SATA? 5400/7200? Does anyone know the answer to this? Thanks.

Is it the full size or smaller drive?
If it's a full size external, it's most likely a Green SATA drive, so 5,400 RPM.

It's the full size. 5400rpm kills my thought of ripping it out and using it in my pc.

depends on what model it is, some of the older ones used full size 7200 drives and I think most of the newer are now green drives

Every WD external Ive bought in the past 3 years has been a green drive.

I know some system info utilities can ID the drive that is in the enclosure. I can tell you which one when I'm home later as I have to double check with my wd mybook
