WD 1TB Caviar Black

Use your 10% ebay coupon that arrived today (also expires today) and 30% Microsoft CashBack to purchase the Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black edition for about $88 final price from buy.com's ebay store. I just got one - CashBack yet to show up in my account but I'm confident I will. Comparably you can get the Seagate 7200.11 1TB for $85 shipped from TigerDirect using CashBack, but this seems hotter since it's a substantially better drives and goes for about $120 on Newegg.

It should've been sent to your MyMessage Inbox in Ebay...not sure that it went to all members though.

it doesn't go to everyone. I've never seen on unfortuantely

I think its the saem code as the one that ended yesterday....

I saw it today, but it says 10% instead of 15%, and it says ends Nov. 30...but the email says ends Dec 1. I am guessing that it is a cut and paste error on their part.

I've spent $32,000 on ebay in the last month and no coupons... go figure.

Even without the coupon it'd be $98 just using Live CashBack. Still a solid deal compared to $120 at Newegg.

Since when does Buy.com's eBay store work with Live cashback? Every time I've tried it, I get the 'this seller uses an outside checkout system so no cashback" message.

Buy.com is supposed to work as long as you pay through PayPal. Unfortunately, I tried this today and it didn't work. There are reports over in the CAG thread about it not working either.

I think it worked until a couple of months ago -- 'fairly certain I saw the CashBack percent on the penultimate page before confirming around 1 October. About a week later, I decided to complete an order and it was gone: henceforth, that "no cashback" msg always warned me off.

Sadness... I depleted my 12th CB this weekend.

I've probably spent $10k on there including ~$1500 in the last month and I've never gotten a coupon.

A friend who's bought too low value things and nothing else got one. Guess who used his account.

I would go for the seagate 1.5tb external from buy.com's ebay store for $128 after live's 20%. Of course two days ago you could have gotten it for less than $100.

Let me tell you my story.

I registered for a half.com account (but didn't finish) in 2002 because I wanted to buy some "used" textbooks on the cheap.
I never came back or ordered anything.

I wanted to register for an eBay account for the first time ever to get Live cashback on a GPS.
It says I can't take that name. I thought WTF??? I'm the only person that uses that name, that can't be possible!!!
I did an account recovery(I also had to re-activate my old hotmail address to get the recovery information as well), and finished registering the old 2002 account and saw a 15% coupon in the account email that was apparently sent on November 20.
I wonder how there was a coupon sent on Nov. 20, but yet it was on Nov. 28th that I finished registering my account and added paypal.

I don't know how active one has to be but as you can see, I wasn't active at all.
Last week's purchase on eBay was the 1st purchase I ever did, period. I never purchased anything on half.com either.

Also, I don't know where people are getting the 10% off coupon from. Mine was "15% off (up to $100)".

Does eBay automatically delete old unopened emails? Because I didn't see any old emails/expired coupons from 2002-October 2008 in the account email.
Maybe this was just a one time thing? Luck of the draw? Was I a lotto winner?

From everything I've read, those drives pose a HIGH risk for failure, not to mention heat, noise, and performance issues. I'll take a smaller, better drive for the same amount.

Luck of the draw?

Yep.

If there were any qualifications/criteria, Ebay's not telling and I can't see a pattern.

I've gotten two 10% coupons and I'm not a heavy user....@ 200 purchases since July '98.

Regarding the Ebay coupons, if I were them, I'd be sending them to the people who don't purchase a lot as opposed to people who spend thousands of dollars a month there.

That's my situation - I've got a couple the last couple months and I've only bought or sold 15 items in my 5-6 years of being an ebay member.

EDIT: And yes, for those wondering, I can confirm that cashback with buy.com through Ebay worked fine - my $40+ is in my account and pending!

200 purchases? Wow. :Q
I consider that to be a heavy user.
