WD 160GB SATA or 250GB ATA-100

Upgrade time, i can get either the Western Digital 250GB ATA-100 that gets glowing reviews from Storage Review or

the Western Digital 160GB SATA.

Capacity isn't an issue, load time is.

TIA for any help. 🙂

Thats the way i've been leaning, i was surprised to see that SR rates the WD ATA-100 up among some of the SCSI and SATA drives in the Gaming benchmark.

I'd go with the cheaper drive. There will be very little change in performance. Bottomline, you're NOT going to see any improvement without test software. I would rather go with a hard drive that comes with 5-yr warranty.

It depends... if I just needed storage space, I'd go with the ATA drive. However, considering the low prices of SATA drives, and the convenience factor, I would get the SATA drive.
