Well, I'm preparing to RMA my very first drive to WD in about 12 years of working with computers. Sad, but I had a feeling it would go based on some reviews I read.

Thankfully I stumbled upon Create Synchronicity in the last year and have profiles to back up critical files to three different drives. Otherwise, lots of corrupted family photo's.

Guess it was bound to happen eventually...just kinda bummed about it.

I've had good luck with mine. How long did you have it?

I guess you know now you should always back up irreplaceable stuff like photos.

Bought two of these in January 2011. The other one isn't even being used.

yea, I back up all my photos to 3 different drives. So it's always on 4 drives at a time. Already been bitten before by a bad SD card that I lazily didn't backup for a couple months.
